The Williamsburg Community Foundation is delighted to have been selected as the featured nonprofit in Landmark Publishing’s Exclusively Greater Williamsburg 2009. We are pleased to be associated with Landmark Publishing and the businesses and organizations that will be participating in this high-quality publication.
Founded in 1999 as the Greater Williamsburg Community Trust, the Williamsburg Community Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter...forever. We pursue this mission by: - Helping donors respond to emerging and changing community needs;
- Building a permanent, flexible endowment;
- Providing effective stewardship of charitable funds; and
- Serving as a resource, catalyst and coordinator for charitable activities.
We assist donors who wish to support our community, we assist nonprofit organizations through our grantmaking and Leave A Legacy Greater Williamsburg program and we assist professional advisors in developing tax and estate planning solutions for their clients.
Last year the Chairman’s Challenge, offered by John Jamison, provided the impetus to over fifty families in greater Williamsburg to establish new unrestricted components of our Community Endowment. Those funds will provide grants to the community this year and will continue that work in perpetuity. We will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary with a gala event in the fall of 2009. With your help we will be able to announce the completion of Chairman’s Challenge and begin on some new adventures together. The Exclusively Greater Williamsburg book will be part of that celebration, highlighting the success of so many people who have helped make the Community Foundation an important component of Williamsburg’s community life.
On behalf of our board and volunteers, I invite you to participate in Exclusively Greater Williamsburg which will benefit the Williamsburg Community Foundation.
Sincerely:
Nancy Coté Sullivan
